Small Case Version
The 008-120-13 series of alternators were designed for automatic duplex control of motors or other types of loads. They are available for a single phase voltage of 120 VAC. When power is applied to the alternator, the cross-wired DPDT output relay contacts change state each time the control voltage is disconnected. The "SP" Version has two options: (1) a lead/lag/automatic selector switch and (2) a push-to-test switch for added convenience in testing or trouble shooting.

Installation Instruction

Installation Instruction

N/A
  1. Connect pins 5 and 6 of the alternator to a single phase AC supply as shown in the installation diagram above.
  2. The hot side of the AC voltage is connected to one side of each control switch and pin 5 of switches are connected to either pin 1 or 2 of the alternator depending upon the user designation of Lead/Lag.
  3. One side of each contactor coil is connected to either pin 7 or 8 of the alternator depending upon the Lead/Lag designation determined in step 2. The opposite sides of the contactor coils are both connected to pin 6 of the alternator, the neutral side of the AC supply.

Test Method

Test Method

N/A

A single phase AC line and properly rated light bulbs are needed to test any alternator in the M.P.E. product line.

  1. The AC line and light bulbs must be connected to the alternator as shown in the test method diagram above.
  2. When the control switch is operated, the light bulbs will alternate on and off.
